Hi, my name is Moe.
A graphic designer in Australia,
born in Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan
on the 10th of October…
Yes, that’s where the name came from. But… if you write 10th of October in Kanji, it becomes my name!

I studied Arts and Design at the University of the Arts London until… I ran out of money after realising international student fees were impossible for me…
So I came back to Japan and started working as an intern at COMMUNE, a graphic design studio in Hokkaido.
Since then, long story short, moved to Tasmania in 2018, went freelance, had 2 kids…
…moved to Adelaide in 2026 and here I am. Turning my creative passion into a small brand design studio, with strength in Japanese design principles for the Australian market.
Anyway, I’m a mum of 2 boys and 2 cats.

After gaining experience at a design studio in Hokkaido, I moved to Tasmania in 2018. Today I run my own design studio in Adelaide.
Moegi is the colour of a new shoot just breaking through, somewhere between yellow and green.
It shares its first character with my name, 萌, which means “to sprout”. That is why it became the accent colour of Tenth Of October.
Seigaiha is a wave pattern long loved in Japan: overlapping arcs that go on without end, carrying a wish for calm days that last.
Japan and Australia sit on the same ocean. Our main blue holds both, the endless waves and the sea between the two places I call home.
Born on the 10th of October in Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan.
I went to London dreaming of the University of the Arts London. Then I saw the international student fees, and the dream had to wait.
Back in Japan, I joined COMMUNE, a graphic design studio in Hokkaido, as an intern. That is where I learned the craft.
Moved to Tasmania, went freelance, and became a mum along the way.
Now a mum of two, I started Tenth Of October in Adelaide. Using my strength in Japanese design principles and multicultural communication design, I help brands in Australia find their voice and look the part.
I am also studying Education and Visual Arts at Curtin University. I am especially interested in how art shapes children, and in the feelings children put into their own drawings.
