Mai Wine Cellar is a wine delivery service in Niseko that brings a sommelier-picked bottle to your home or cottage. We created the branding and website: a logo shaped like a wine bottle and a geometric red, black and white pattern that balance quality with a little playfulness.

About the client

A delivery-style wine shop in Niseko, Hokkaido, where a sommelier brings wine to your door. The idea is to recreate the experience of choosing a bottle with a sommelier in a shop, right at your own front door.

What we focused on

The visit, made visible

To make the core idea of a sommelier visiting your home clear at a glance, we brought motifs of wine and a home visit into the logo.

Motifs within the type

Building on the idea of placing a bottle, glass, house and car inside the lettering, we kept the result simple rather than crowded.

Fun with a touch of class

Centred on the fun of enjoying wine, we proposed two directions: one modern and simple, the other playful with a sense of luxury.
